Position Overview

Qinetiq is looking for a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer to support a client in Massachusetts. This high visibility and on-site position will focus on monitoring and improving supplier performance to ensure QinetiQ and customer success.

Responsibilities

  • Assure supplier processes and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance.
  • Work closely with suppliers and the QinetiQ team to resolve supplier issues.
  • Responsible for supporting MRB processes for supplier materials.
  • Drive root cause corrective actions.
  • Perform supplier process surveillance & product source inspections.
  • Provide direction and interpretation of customer guidelines and / or customer-imposed quality standards and specifications.
  • Manage supplier requests for waivers, deviations, and discrepancy reporting.
  • Keep management apprised of supplier performance and risks.
  • Develop and implement supplier quality evaluation and control systems.
  • Collaborate with QinetiQ engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards and methods are in place at suppliers.
  • Review program contractual and drawing requirements and support inspection activities.
  • Provide hands on support to Receiving Inspection personnel on products involving a wide range of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electric disciplines

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering or related experience.
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in surveillance of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and performance specifications.
  • Familiarity with hardware inspection techniques
  • Experience working with mechanical design requirements and specifications.
  • Experience ERP and Enterprise Quality Management Software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain relationships with suppliers, customers and internal teams.
  • Experience with conducting product / process validation in accordance with AS9102 (First Article Inspection).
