Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring an Instructional Services Coordinator Senior (short-term). This position will perform professional-level technical and analytical work in the computer labs pertaining to its daily operations and its related functions.

This position will also serve as a subject matter expert for the installation and maintenance of virtualized and physical lab software, hardware, and applications for use in the college setting.

Essential Functions

25% - Consults with faculty, staff, business / community representatives, partner organizations and other stakeholders on technology laboratory design, development and maintenance, including but not limited to, coordination and installation of various virtualized lab components on multiple servers and workstations, provision of routine service requests for faculty, staff or students such as account maintenance, desktop imaging, virus scanning and removal, maintenance of system backup and restoration, partnership and team collaboration with the district and / or campus Information Technology division as required for performance, load and security issues associated with campus and laboratory resources.

20% - Oversees and provides leadership for the project teams as needed for coordination, set-up, and maintenance for all laboratory needs and learning exercises / projects including maintenance of equipment inventory and supplies as well as development of operating policies, practices and work standards for technology laboratory operations.

Provides program administration and consultation including planning, developing and implementing related functions, projects and activities.

20% - Performs instructional program and technology laboratory configuration and setup including operational planning, development and estimation of budget, problem-resolution and providing technical assistance to faculty and students.

20% - Ensures best practices and compliance measures are followed by collaborating and participating with faculty, staff and / or external partners to develop policies and procedures and produce reports, publications, correspondence, program materials, division websites and other related program information and by overseeing the maintenance of files, records, program materials and documentation in regards to the technology equipment, lab environment, procedures and practices.

15% - Provides / serves : Training, guidance and support to faculty, students and staff of local and virtualized equipment.

Supports structures such as operating systems, applications, data assurance and client / server hardware and other technology areas Committee representative and division liaison for STEM / STEAM and other appropriate technology initiatives as needed;

supports students in a lab environment; performs other duties as assigned commensurate to grade level of position

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a technology field, education, organizational development, or directly related field and two (2) years of full-time equivalent related experience, such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following : planning, development, and / or implementing program projects and activities in the area of assignment.

Associate's degree in a technology field, education, organizational development, or directly related field and four (4) years of full-time equivalent related experience, such as providing advanced program coordination and consultation that includes one or more of the following : planning, development, and / or implementing program projects and activities in the area of assignment.

Desired Qualifications

A. Master's degree or higher with coursework emphasizing Information Technology or a related field OR five (5) years of industry experience in an IT position related to the essential duties of the job.

B. Experience working in an education lab setting

C. Experience configuring and supporting desktop and server hardware, operating systems and applications

D. Experience with virtualization and support of virtualized environments

E. IT industry certifications such as VMWare, MCSA, CCNA

F. Experience with the NetLab virtualized learning environment
