Job Summary
The Director of Financial Reporting will oversee the reporting and compliance functions of the North America accounting team.
They will establish and implement accounting policies and standards under both IFRS and US GAAP. In addition, they will ensure the accurate reporting of month-end results to our Parent Company in the UK for consolidation purposes.
Key Performance Indicators
Timely and accurate submission of reporting packages
Successful collaboration with external audit for timely delivery of audit, including statutory audits
Oversee analysis of nuanced technical accounting issues aligning RTX scenarios with relevant accounting guidance
Create relationship with departments across the organization; provide support through detailed analysis and analytics
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Financial Reporting will :
Direct and oversee the financial reporting process, including the submission of Monthly Management Reporting to Group Management in the U.K.
Manage the preparation of technical research and evaluation of accounting positions & conventions
Partner closely with FP&A and Group to ensure accurate reporting of North America results
Complete statement of cash flows and related analysis
Partner with M&A on new acquisitions, including the valuation of acquired assets and assumed liabilities
Meet regularly with Internal Audit on status of operational and SOX audits. Work with colleagues to establish remediation plans and conclude on deficiencies.
Challenge to improve existing controls
Cross collaborate with FP&A business partners for development of accurate forecast and analysis
Implement automated solutions to streamline and standardize process and procedures
Lead accounting for significant or judgemental areas, along with Corporate Accounting
Direct annual audit and liaison with external auditors
Maintain relationship with Tax Department to ensure timely reporting and control execution
Develop, manage, and coach team members
Enhance control environment with a focus on a risk-based approach
Identify & implement areas of efficiency, automation and acceleration for close process
Ensure full review of balance sheet reconciliations and prepare detailed analytical analysis for executive management
Evaluate the process and procedures used by team; identify opportunities for process improvement and greater efficiency, and serve as an advocate for change including automated solutions
Work collaboratively across departments with leaders, including Global and North American Executive Leadership members
Apply deep knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and statutory accounting principles to address complex accounting challenges and ensure accurate financial reporting
Research, analyze, and provide insights on emerging accounting standards and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and appropriate accounting treatments
Perform ad hoc and all other duties as assigned
CANDIDATE SUMMARY
Required Experience
13+ years of experience in progressive financial / accounting roles within moderately to complex corporate structure
5+ in management position
Experience with multi-unit organization

Formal Education, Qualifications or Training
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent relevant experience - Required
Masters in finance, accounting or related field - Preferred
CPA - Required
