VP, Strategy & Operations Manager

The ideal candidate will have strong strategy development, project management skills, and be process-oriented as they look to drive key business results and operationalize the way the GFP(Growth Financial Products) team works across our matrixed organization.

They will be comfortable leading business planning and budgeting activities, and have a deep knowledge in analytics and business intelligence.

They will contribute to Management business reviews to drive disciplined financial and business process management, as well as have an innate ability to influence decision making across segments and partners by being an engaged thought leader.

Lastly, they will take a strong collaborative approach to building and elevating our culture within our team and across our partners deepening One Chase relationships, and improving the end-to-end customer experience to help grow the business and drive satisfaction & retention.

As a Strategy & Operations Manager in our GFP organization, you will be responsible for defining and implementing business strategy, planning, and goals for one of the GFP Segments (Youth & Student, Lower Mass, and Affluent).

You will work directly with key functional partners in Finance, Analytics, Marketing and Risk as well as cross line of business partners in Card and Wealth Management.

This role will report to the Head of Business Operations for GFP.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Influences short, mid and long term strategies and objectives for socialization, planning and decision making working closely with the respective growth segment
  • Drives competitive and market tracking and trends to uncover opportunities and inform business strategy
  • Builds out materials encompassing key business initiatives, KPIs, P&Ls, expenses and budget for team visibility and monthly CEO business reviews
  • Manages business and financial analysis for the segment aligned to objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Has analytical mindset - Interprets data and analysis to make policy changes and business decisions
  • Contributes to annual and quarterly business planning and budget process
  • Manages risk and control agenda for the respective segments
  • Embodies our GFP cultural values as we continue to serve our business and customers

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills :

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy development and / or business management
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for quantitatively and qualitatively derived insight, but also a willingness to focus on details and process
  • Exceptional leadership acumen to collaborate and drive business agenda forward
  • Ability to assess industry and competitor market trends and impact to the business
  • Anticipates and resolves both customer and general issues with a sense of urgency
  • Engages the organization in introducing ideas for improving client service
  • Mobilizes resources across boundaries to solve issues in a productive manner
  • Pursues cross functional opportunities to improve customer experience or meet customer needs
  • Demonstrates superior judgment to mitigate risk that could impact the firm’s reputation
  • Identifies and pursues root-cause analysis of risk / compliance issues client / customer complaints
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change in a fast paced, complex environment while promoting a strong control environment by adhering to risk / control expectations, procedures, and processes

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills :

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or relevant graduate degree desired
  • Preferred experience in financials services
