ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

The individual plans, organizes, and monitors the efficient collection, storage, and dispatch of all items received from suppliers or production departments, ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so supplies are located and distributed to proper departments in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

Oversees the inventory control process to maintain the integrity of inventory and ensure raw materials are in house and available to support all production needs.

Assumes responsibility for overall organization and operation of Receiving Warehouse and Inbound raw materials. Analyzes inventory discrepancies and variance issues to determine root cause and provides resolutions.

This position is also responsible for the management and workflow of the Shipping Department and all outbound activity to maintain 100% accuracy in all outbound endeavors.

  • Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse or the production floor in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
  • Oversee the timely dispatch of goods to customers or other locations.
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
  • Manage inventory accuracy through monitoring of daily warehouse activities, cycle counts, and audits.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, and monitors and evaluates performance of warehouse personnel by ensuring their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations.
  • Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.
  • Ensures that internal departments are supplied with necessary materials including film, virgin, and printed board.
  • Coordinate logistics between clients, suppliers, sister warehouses, and transport companies for transportation and delivery of goods.
  • Establishes Quality Checks of All Receipts and maintains records. Monitors, analyzes and communicates any quality trends as it refers to inbound receipts.
  • Organize the information related to deliveries, receipts, locations and movements
  • Ensure inventory moves are occurring on a real time basis.
  • Ensures that all Material Handlers are certified to operate powered vehicles.
  • Identifies and improves warehouse processes to increase efficiency and minimize mistakes.
  • Ensures trucks are being properly scheduled and on the traffic calendar.
  • Responsible for reporting QC issues.
  • Oversees international shipping documents
  • Establish a cycle count approach that includes inventory counts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Ensure cycle count approach suits and inventory locator system.
  • Organize all information as related to inventory control and ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Review variances by researching receipts, work order and shipment postings, BOM’s in JDE, and inventory moves. Partner with all departments to research variances and establish corrective measures.
  • Provide variance summary of findings to corporate that explains all issues reviewed.
  • Label Database Management, along with supervision and scheduling of the label makers, monitors and maintains label inventory
  • Maintains records necessary for the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely reports.
  • Recommends and implements plans for warehouse improvements, including the most effective use of storage space and staging requirements.
  • Enforces adherence to maintenance routines, and demands standards of order and cleanliness in the warehouse area.
  • Participates in the preparation of specifications, selection, and economic justification of new equipment.
  • Exhibits a professional manner in dealing with others, and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
  • Develops, executes, and revises departmental SOPs to enhance quality, quantity, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct supervision to all Inventory Control, Receiving and Shipping Personnel.
  • Prepares performance evaluations for departmental staff as part of Annual Performance Review process.
  • Assists with job description development for the department.
  • Works with Human Resources to interview, select, and train associates to fill vacant positions.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and / or facts and recommendations effectively.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related documents.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage groups through project implementation.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred OR
  • 2 Years of progressive experience in key leadership / management roles in a warehouse environment.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
