Job Summary
Serving within the Research Faculty of The Institute, Startup Catalysts directly support the extension, service, and economic development missions of Georgia Tech to the State of Georgia and beyond.
Primarily this role provides entrepreneurial incubation and acceleration services to Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) companies in strategic areas that foster their development and encourage growth.
Specifically, this position will lead efforts focusing on programs and initiatives that foster entrepreneurial education.
The incumbent in this role will specialize in improving and expanding ATDC educational activities through curriculum advancement, community engagement, promoting mentorship relationships, and client feedback analysis.
Hybrid Working
This position is hybrid : remote and onsite. The primary office location can / may be in the metro-Atlanta area however, incumbent in this position may be expected to travel state-wide and remain flexible to on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client schedules and / or project requirements).
Responsibilities
Foster startup growth and development through the design and execution of comprehensive ATDC entrepreneurial education programs.
Essential teaching topics include, but are not limited to, customer discovery, investor readiness, business operations, marketing, and financial literacy.
Recruit expert-level instructors and create a balanced mix of content delivery methods (remote learning, in-person classes, self-guided learning programs, hybrid formats, etc.).
Track and grow ATDC Educate memberships. Lead efforts that utilize relevant metrics that measure program success and customer satisfaction.
Analyze program feedback data to refine, update, and continually improve ATDC Educate Program. Work closely with the regional ATDC network to ensure educational offerings are accessible state-wide.
- Manage and expand the ATDC volunteer mentor program. Develop a pipeline of ATDC mentor participation, create a viable mentor-matching process that fosters positive mentor / mentee relationships, and recruit mentors who can contribute to ATDC education programmatic activities.
- Through community and network engagement, cultivate an organizational learning environment that improves ATDC relationships with investors, prospective business advisors / partners, CEOs, and community technology leaders.
- Actively engage with the ATDC leadership team to promote and support broader ATDC initiatives that align with ATDC s strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the entire ATDC team to help facilitate positive transitions for startup companies to move from the ATDC Educate Program to ATDC portfolio status as they demonstrate readiness and growth potential.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred Education : BS degree in Education, Educational Psychology, Engineering, Business, Technology, Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related fields in combination with an advanced degree (MS / MBA or doctorate) in a business, educational, or technology-related field.
- Preferred Work Experience : 10+ years of job-related work experience.
- Preferred Applicant Skills / Background : (1) Founder of a technology startup or early-stage startup experience; and / or (2) Leadership experience managing a technology company;
- and / or (3) Leadership or supporting role in securing multiple rounds of startup financing (angel or venture); (4) General knowledge of entrepreneurial consultative service delivery;
5) Ability to analyze, evaluate, and assess complex information; coaching and consulting experience; and an ability to use independent judgment and communicate effectively.
Strong public speaking / presentation skills, process analysis, and problem-solving, as well as the use of standard office equipment and specialized computer applications.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a reputable track record in strategic entrepreneurship with an ability to interpret / present data in a logical and client-understandable fashion.
Travel : Incumbents in this position may be expected to travel, as needed, and remain flexible to on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules and / or project requirements).
