Position Details

  • Salary Range : 80,000 100,000
  • Full-time, Hybrid role, Work onsite 2 days a week
  • Reports to Director of Product
  • Minimal travel may be required (15-20%)
  • Located in Yes Energy’s core offices across the US (Boulder, CO; Chicago, IL; Boston / Dedham, MA; Richmond, VA).

Position Summary

We seek to fill an Associate Product Manager position in any of our core offices across the US. In this role, you will manage one of our core products and support other products in our portfolio.

NOTE : This is a hybrid role, and we prefer the candidate to be located in Yes Energy’s core offices across the US (Boulder, CO;

Chicago, IL; Boston / Dedham, MA; Richmond, VA).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement
  • Work closely with customers to understand their business challenges deeply and uncover the most valuable solutions we can offer to solve them.
  • Train internal departments on new product features and provide support to customers.
  • Travel to customers’ sites and other Yes Energy offices - minimum travel expectation is 15-20%.
  • Participate in Product Development
  • Act as the product owner on an engineering team 33% of the year.
  • Inform the product roadmap for one of Yes Energy’s core products.
  • Manage the product backlog for feature requests and bug fixes.
  • Support product managers of other products in our portfolio (backlog management, ad hoc / bug prioritization, Tier 2 support).
  • Analyze usage data to make data-driven decisions on future data catalog investments.
  • Perform market research and understand how different customer segments use our products.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing
  • Coordinate with Sales and Marketing on go-to-market product strategies.
  • Contribute to content-driven marketing pieces.
  • Be the expert on the competitive landscape for a product.
  • Partner with Customer Success & Customer Support
  • Work with the Customer Success team to provide advanced product support.
  • Work with the Customer Success team to develop and implement metrics to measure and improve customer engagement and maximize the customer’s value from Yes Energy products.
  • Create training tools and lead projects to increase the adoption of Yes Energy products and features.

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate

  • You are a data nerd passionate about making data-driven decisions when developing product roadmaps.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and desire to apply them to customers and internal stakeholders, including small and large (100+) audiences.
  • You have strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
  • You are curious and committed to developing deep domain expertise on nodal power market data. You are motivated to learn our business, customers, and way of doing product management.
  • You are naturally collaborative and ask thought-provoking questions to help you prioritize product development and expand your product, market, and technical knowledge.
  • You utilize your understanding of complex and messy data to help write better requirements for engineering teams.
  • You have a growth mindset and are constantly seeking ways to improve.
  • You are undaunted by complex, technical topics and don’t give up until you understand.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of product management experience.
  • A minimum of one year of energy industry experience, preferably in nodal power markets.
  • BS / BA degree in a product, technology, or finance-related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to travel 15-20%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SQL, Snowflake, Oracle, Tableau, Sigma, and Jira
  • Experience working with Agile teams, processes, and software (preferably Jira)
