Job Summary :
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team for a 4 - 6 week project. The primary responsibility of the Medical Biller will be on submitting a backlog of several thousand (split) claims, and resolving billing discrepancies.
The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding, and proficiency in medical billing software.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies and other payers
- Review and verify patient billing information for accuracy and completeness
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Investigate and appeal denied claims as necessary
- Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts accurately
- Resolve billing issues and answer patients' billing questions
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information
- Stay updated on healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure effective billing processes
- Generate reports on billing activities as required
Requirements :
- 1 year of FQHC Medical Billing experience, OR 2+ years of Medical Billing claims submission experience
- Must be comfortable working with the LGBTQ+ community
