Position Summary Reporting to the President and VP of Partnerships, the Director of Sales is an integral part of the Partnerships and Special Events department, focusing on aggressively driving sales.
AAG is looking for someone with an athletic background and / or a passion for all things sports related, in addition to a proven track record in sales. Primary Responsibilities
- Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, preferably in the sports and entertainment industry.
- Strong track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Knowledge of the North American Corporate Partnerships.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets for Arizona Athletic Grounds.
- Give prospects tours of the facility and design a strategic plan to close them before leaving the property.
- Eventually lead, manage, and motivate a sales team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure performance excellence.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to enhance the sports complex's financial growth.
- Eventually collaborate with marketing teams to create effective sales campaigns, promotions, and branding strategies but be willing to wear all these hats until the marketing team is more robust.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Use market insights to make informed decisions and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Drive leads provided by ownership and others to successful completion.
- Provide consistent status updates to ownership on status of pipeline of all leads / prospect and closed deals.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders. Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty by delivering exceptional experiences and service.
- Utilize data-driven insights to evaluate and optimize sales performance, making data-driven decisions to maximize results.
- Oversee the development and negotiation of contracts, ensuring favorable terms for the sports complex.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations to position Arizona Athletic Grounds as a leader in the sports and entertainment sector.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and maximizing sales performance across different channels.
By representing the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Experience and Qualifications
- A / BS Degree (4-year).
- 6-8 years Related sales experience.
- Experience working with venue-based sponsorships.
- Experience in sponsorship sales in a global role is a plus.
- Proven track record in building successful partnerships as well as consistently securing investments with FORTUNE 500 organizations.
- Must have a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and creativity.
- Deep understanding of the advertising industry.
- Exemplary problem solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to synergize the efforts of individuals and teams from multiple AEG business units to accomplish the goals of the company.
- Expertise in identifying opportunities and developing strategies and negotiating creative solutions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn required business system.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field
- Valid driver’s license (required for golf cart and other equipment use)
