Saturday dates : 1 / 11, 2 / 8, 3 / 8, 4 / 12 Summer Hours : 8 am-12 pm, on-site for June 9th-July 11th Job Summary The Markey Cancer Center is seeking to hire a part-time office employee for the Markey Cancer Center’s educational pipeline program, the Appalachian Career Training in Oncology (ACTION) Program.
The ideal candidate is a recently graduated UK student or an undergrad with 60 credit hours who majored in a science-related field and has familiarity with the ACTION program.
This position will aid with planning and programming including 1 monthly Saturday meeting on campus for the high school students and biweekly Thursday meetings from 5 pm-6 pm with the ACTION undergrads.
Weekly job duties include planning for the Saturday meetings, picking up food vouchers, organizing guest speakers, and preparing summer paperwork and workshops.
Summer job duties include escorting students to clinical observations, helping with morning workshops, answering phone calls, and preparing agendas / attendance lists.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Majored in a science-related field. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
No Preferred Education / Experience Previous experience working with high school students or in a summer camp setting is preferred but not required.
