Reporting to the Head of Project Management & Construction, the Electrical Inspector is responsible for the quality control management and electrical works of large scale, solar and battery storage projects.
Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections to ensure code, testing, and material compliance of services and products adhere to the standard of Repsol’s Quality Management System of solar projects as assigned by the Construction Manager, Project Manager, and others as needed.
This position will also be responsible for the definition of the quality requirements on our construction sites.
Responsibilities / Duties :
- Follow the QA / QC management system at sites.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
- Use QA / QC computer programs to document quality records.
- Responsible for performing all aspects of Electrical inspection activities with minimum supervision.
- Ensure Electrical ITP stages are followed and complied.
- Review IFCs and overall accuracy.
- Monitor Electrical operations and conduct required inspections of work to resolve quality related issues with workers and subcontractors.
- Ensure electrical installation at Substations meet code, prudent industry substation practices as it pertains to grounding, shielding, and other activities.
- Communicate with management and sub-contractor the requirements of quality's scope of work.
- Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards.
- Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding QA / QC matters.
- Develop inspection and test programs.
- Coordinate quality site inspections with all sub-contractors and vendors.
- Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan.
- Inspect / review product material and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications and QCM.
- Identify and control all NCR's while correcting with remedial action.
- Witness megger testing and ensure that the daily testing documentation is in order.
- Witness MV terminations and testing and ensure that the daily testing documentation is in order.
- Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and competed in a timely matter meeting project deadline.
- Ensure timely completion of paperwork and turnover documents are in order.
- Inspect remediation processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer.
- Valid US Driver's License
- OSHA 10 Certification
- Previous experience working with PCUs like Sungrow, TMEIC, Siemens, ABB, or Power Electronics Inverters is a must.
- Previous experience installing modules of different wattage classes.
- Previous experience with Cab systems and UG DC systems.
- Minimum of 5 years construction experience on energy related projects.
- Previous experience with AC / DC terminations is a must.
- Previous battery storage experience with both AC / DC coupling systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in quality control of CAB, MV Terminations, SCADA, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Previous experience with Substation Construction, MPTs, Tie-ins, and Switch gears.
- Ability to conduct regular Quality Control reports and remedial processes outlined by the standards and specifications set forth in the engineering documents.
- Understanding and awareness of site safety requirements by OSHA.
- An ability to quickly get across the detail, when required, to develop understanding on issues.
