Technical Program Manager - AFT, Amazon Fulfillment Technology

Amazon Fulfillment Technologies (AFT) powers Amazon’s global fulfillment network by designing and building the software, hardware and processes that enable our customers to get what they want, when they want it.

We put innovation into action, working alongside our employees in the Fulfillment Centers to move billions of customer orders globally.

When a human looks at a picture of an item, they can easily identify what the item is and understand how to pick it up. Robots and every fulfillment process from procurement through delivery rely on an understanding of an item’s physical characteristics to make efficient fulfillment decisions.

Our vision is to teach our systems to do what comes naturally to humans - identify items, describe them, and make fast, informed choices.

To solve these challenges at scale, we leverage a rich set of data including measurements, images, point clouds, and beyond.

We then use a variety of techniques including computer vision, machine learning, and advanced statistics to create powerful insights for automated decision making and improved customer experience.

You will help scale this system by managing internal and external stakeholders across business, operations, engineering, science and deployment.

As a Sr TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

An ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected.

Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
