Day (United States of America)Installs, maintains and repairs all functions of electrical power apparatus, controls, electrical systems, and equipment throughout the Albany Medical Center.
Checks apparatus for safety hazards. Installs and maintains nurse call systems, signaling systems, and fire alarm systems.
Installs, maintains, and repairs various types of commercial, industrial, and residential appliances and equipment. Assists other tradespeople to complete projects as required.
Assists in snow removal services.
Hourly Range : $23.96 - $38.34
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be able to plan own work, using drawings, blueprints and / or sketches. Responsible for reporting hours worked and parts used on jobs.
- Must be able to run, bend, and anchor conduit.
- Knowledge of low voltage signaling and communications systems, alarms including Fire Alarm and Security Alarm.
- Installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, and adjusts motors, generators, signal or power equipment, controllers, switches and various types of electrically related equipment.
- Troubleshoots and cleans electrical control apparatus.
- Assists other shop crafts in troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Performs periodic preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Inspects, cleans, and maintains electrical distribution equipment, including power distribution vaults and switch gear.
- Inspects, tests, maintains and repairs fire alarm systems and other miscellaneous alarm systems.
- Inspects, tests, maintains and repairs nurse call systems and other low voltage communications systems.
- Runs conduit and cable from source to specified locations.
- Moves and installs electrical equipment throughout the Center.
- Performs all assigned tasks in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Displays a "Customer First Attitude".
- Follows AMC policies and procedures and adheres to center safety policies and procedures.
- Assists & Cooperates : With other foremen and supervisors to schedule and complete projects according to plan.
- Assists : With the training of unit helpers, or new electricians.
- Responsible to conduct good housekeeping measures to promote safety.
- Responsible to attend asbestos training annually and be part of the asbestos team.
- When needed, management reserves the right to assign or reassign all employees.
- Assists : The Director of Facility Maintenance in all emergencies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma / G.E.D. - required
- 1-3 years of schooling in electrical field - required
- 4-6 years of related experience - required
- Must have an excellent working knowledge of National Electrical Codes, NFPA Healthcare Codes, NFPA Life Safety Codes.
