IT Business Management Analyst 1- Finance Background
Job Description
The IT Business Management Analyst 1 is an intermediate-level professional position that analyzes, accounts for, and monitors internal controls to improve internal visibility and decision-making regarding sacred funds for the organization's religious mission under the direction of senior ecclesiastical leaders.
This role coordinates and reviews the preparation and analysis of service management processes and reviews and prepares financial and business management reports.
They ensure adherence to established business management principles and governance procedures, prepare policies and procedures, perform and coordinate internal control reviews, and some accounting functions.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and review the preparation, analysis, and execution of service management processes with specific focus on the total cost aspect of services
- Analyze cost, price and allocation models based on historical financial data, budget data, actuals, forecasts, and data discovered via interviews, engineering and operational management toolsets, asset management systems, contract management systems, etc.
- Analyze data, provide assessments of trends, identify, and explain variances from plan, and provide insights and tracking for cost management initiatives.
- Provide information on cost models, allocation models, and cost drivers to management and service owners.
- Act as a team player within the organization to build common understanding and desire to partner on the ITFM effort.
- Provide financial analysis and / or process development for special projects
- Understand business operations of the department and find best ways to support running the business through solid financial reporting.
Act as a team member for projects dealing with complex cost-related issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience in cost and expense analysis, accounting, auditing, business management or equivalent
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles with the ability to learn Church accounting systems quickly
- Demonstrates analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented
- Ability to clearly communicate business and technical concepts in writing or orally
- Ability to analyze and interpret large data sets and graphically present data
- Domain knowledge of IT services and financial management practices including budgeting, forecasting, demand management, cost allocations, cost modeling, capital, and operating expense handling
- Report Development skills in a reporting tool
- This job operates in a professional office environment
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors / equipment.
