Job Summary :
The Electrical / Controls Technician for the Plating Systems is responsible for activities related to process controls, installation, support, maintenance and testing of all equipment relating to the chrome plating system.
Including pre-plate and post plate processes and auxiliary equipment, paint systems, conveyer systems, etc.
Main duties and responsibilities :
- Repair or modify wiring in control panels
- Ensure all electrical drawings are kept up to date
- Specify and have input into the design of new equipment
- Work closely with corporate team members on various projects for continuous improvement and launch of new products.
- Perform routine maintenance and assist maintenance department in supporting production
- Follow timelines for projects
- Optimize equipment efficiencies as needed
- Identify, lead / drive various continuous improvement projects
- Use safety procedures in all work according to OSHA and AGS Health & Safety, Environmental and Housekeeping Policies
- Perform any other duties that may be specifically or generally assigned
Employment Requirements :
- Hands on experience to include working on elevated equipment with and without man lifts.
- Willingness to work in potential hazardous environments with chemicals.
- Strong understanding and trouble shooting of electrical systems and controls.
- Ability to read, comprehend and update electrical prints with AutoCAD.
- PLC programming experience for trouble shooting of Allen Bradley PLCs Logix 500 and 5000.
- Experience with Relay Logic, Rectifiers, motors and motor controls.
- Some exposure to robotic systems.
- Knowledge of safety circuits and safety devices in manufacturing cells
- Mechanical aptitude
- Proficient in Windows & and Office 2013
- Plating Experience a Plus
