POSITION GOAL
Responsible for the implementation of the warranty program, while ensuring compliance with project standards and District policies.
This includes processing warranty requests and coordinating with professionals and school personnel for the successful completion of such requests maintaining the warranty database and coordinating with the District Physical Plant Operations Department on applicable extended warranties.

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Coordinator Warranty / Asset, Physical Plant Operations shall carry out the performance responsibilities listed below :
- Develop and maintain databases for equipment history, work orders, and preventive maintenance, in coordination with the Project Coordinator, Preventive Maintenance to track assets for scheduled maintenance.
- Ensure the availability of timely information by updating the equipment history database for new equipment or systems including information on vendors, equipment specifications, warranty information, and parts list.
- Establish and maintain a database and files for all manufacturer specifications, operating procedures, and manuals for all major equipment, systems, and components.
- Coordinate with Physical Plant Operations personnel to ensure ready access to all information in files and databases to maximize trade efficiency.
- Ensure accurate asset tracking by establishing the parameters for asset identification (value, age, etc.) and implementing the most effective application of available asset-tracking technologies.
- Support the implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the computerized maintenance management system as new releases are made available.
- Manages asset management and disposition of inactive and obsolete assets by tracking inventory, costs, movement, and disposition.
- Reviews asset information, such as warranties, manufacturer warranties, maintenance, and service agreements, and regulatory compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
- Develops asset management plans for all assets, assessing the need for renewals, new purchases, or disposals.
- Establish project warranty schedules and quality expectations.
- Monitor departmental progress by maintaining the data to track warranty expiration, vendor responses to warranty / recall reimbursement requests, and preparing special reports.

- Initiate warranty claims for all defective parts or supplies to maintain successful standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement by reviewing progress reports, determining more efficient methods, recommending changes to Manager, Facilities Support Services, and documenting, and implementing.
- Perform and promote all activities in compliance with the equal employment and non-discrimination policies of The School Board of Broward County, Florida.
- Participate in training programs offered to enhance the individual skills and proficiency related to job responsibilities.
- Review current developments, literature, and technical sources of information related to job responsibilities.
- Research and have familiarity with School District databases and performance evaluation models.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures.
- Follow federal and state, as well as School Board policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in asset / property management and / or training in the field related to the title of the position.
- Strong understanding of general warranty terms, regulations, and guidelines.
- Ability to assess and interpret technical documentation and specifications.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective, verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills as required for the position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree majors in finance, economics business administration, or related field.
- Bilingual skills.
SIGNIFICANT CONTACTS-frequency, contact, purpose
- Communicates on an ongoing basis with Project Managers, Facilities & Construction, Building Inspectors, Safety Specialists, District Managers, Supervisors, and Department Trainers to ensure coordination of planning and scheduling of maintenance capital projects across divisions;
- communicates with contractors, purchasing, and Physical Plant Operations departments utilizing contracted services to ensure effective oversight of contract services;
ongoing internal communication between coordinators of asset management and preventive maintenance to ensure the database is current and preventive maintenance is scheduled.
The Coordinator Warranty / Asset periodically interacts with ETS technical support to ensure the availability of the system to support projects and services.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light work : Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the District's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the School Board.
