Your Role
The Director will lead toxicologists and clinical research for the overall safety assessments from raw material to finished product, and preparation of cosmetic safety report, responsible for post market surveillance and cosmetic adverse event monitoring, analyzing and reporting as required by cosmetic regulation globally.
Act as technical leader for safety strategy and industry engagement.
Your Impact
- Setting up team objectives and execution plan on an annual basis. Managing and coaching direct reports on both technical aspects and competency for international and local safety standards
- Continue to optimize executional processes and drive better alignment with cross functional partners for better effectiveness and efficiency
- Responsible for communicating directly with external consultants when challenges or different formulation / raw materials are encountered
- Representing VS&Co. in industry consortium or task forces to ensure that company has up-to-date information / intelligence of the latest development related to product safety and science
- Teaching and training junior team members on the science of toxicology, clinical safety and efficacy and other related technical skills, such as toxicological analysis, study design, state-of-the-art safety trend, clinical study design, monitoring and analysis
- Responsible for mapping out technical road path to the future, communicating with industry and authority to progress safety assessment and alternative test method development and replacing animal testing
- Working with Clinical research manager, providing product safety evidence to solve customer complains on adverse effects, supporting product post market surveillance and reporting adverse effect cases to authority
- Responsible for working with regional safety manager to analyze and project future safety evaluation and testing needs and build the toolbox to support countries assigned
- Accountable for furnishing up-to-date safety assessment of raw materials and finished product for global market and accountable for preparing cosmetic safety report according to US, EU regulation and CFDA / NMPA requirements
- Coaching and communicating with regional vendors and raw materials suppliers for VS&Co.safety requirements
- Be the spokesperson on anything related to raw material and finished product safety and interact with authorities when question arisen during factory inspection and dossier evaluation
- Accountable for conducting final review of product safety assessments and sign-off after thorough review
Minimum Salary : $138,000.00
Maximum Salary : $195,825.00
VS&Co provides an estimated range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual compensation will be determined by a number of relevant factors, including but not limited to your specific skills, experience, & geographic location.
Qualifications
- A . in Toxicology, Pharmacology or related majors
- 7+years of industry experience in personal care / cosmetics or related industry or a Masters degree with 10+ years of experience and is used to a fast-paced working environment
- DABT certification preferred
- Registered EU toxicologist preferred
- Knowledgeable about global regulations and safety positions on ingredients
- Some international and domestic travel required
- Bi-lingual English and Chinese preferred
