Overview

The Manager Medical Affairs and Quality ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care and supports the organization's medical affairs initiatives.

This role assists with the development and implementation of an organization-wide quality management program that is designed to assess and review the quality of patient care provided.

This role is also responsible for supporting the organization's medical affairs initiatives and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Manages the daily operations of the quality management and medical affairs staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective performance.

Assists in the development and implementation of an organization-wide quality management program, in collaboration with key stakeholders.

Coordinates and directs programs designed to assess and review the quality of patient care provided, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.

Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Conducts regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality standards and identify opportunities for improvement.

Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices in healthcare quality management, incorporating new knowledge into the organization's quality management program.

Supports the development and implementation of medical affairs strategies and initiatives to support the organization's goals.

Collaborates with key opinion leaders and external stakeholders to drive scientific exchange and knowledge sharing.

Develops and maintains relationships with healthcare professionals, academic institutions, and professional organizations.

Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION : Required : Master?s degree in nursing or healthcare-related field

EXPERIENCE : Required : Minimum 3 years in Medical Staff Services experience; minimum 2 years in management; prior experience with regulatory standards, compliance and audit

A combination of experience in Medical Staff Services, Peer Review, healthcare management and leadership which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRY / LISTING : Required : Current licensure in Nursing or other applicable license; Certified Professional in Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) or Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) and Certified Professional in HealthCare Quality (CPHQ) required within three (3) years of acceptance of position.

To be eligible for CPMSM or CPCS certification, must have a minimum of 5 years Medical Staff Services experience per the National Association of Medical Staff Services.
