Job Title : Accounting Associate, Revenues
Reports to : Senior Accounting Manager
Supervisory Responsibilities : None

Salary-Exempt Status : Overtime Eligible
Position Summary
The Accounting Associate, Revenue supports the finance team, manages accounting records according to established standards, and provides customer service to vendors, volunteers and the public.
Essential Job Functions
Complete revenue functions such as posting of all gifts (cash and in-kind) processed by the data services and program team as well any other contributions and pledge entry.
This includes but is not limited to : Review of all revenue for potential restrictions and maintenance of pledge documentation, ensure all revenue is recorded in the general ledger.
- Complete accounting functions such as journal entries and account reconciliations in a timely manner with required support schedules.
- Uphold financial controls throughout the chapter, comply with IRS / GAAP standards and protect organization assets by adhering to and enforcing internal controls and proper segregation of duties.
- Analyze data in NetSuite, salesforce and third-party data sources and reconcile for differences.
- Ensure financial data (cash and in -kind) in the donor database (Salesforce) reconciles to the general ledger (NetSuite)
- Ensure financial data in Salesforce / WVC reconciles to the general ledger (NetSuite).
- Ensure all internal event revenue and expenses are recorded and reconciled.
- Gather data and assist Senior Accounting Manager with ROI analysis monthly.
- Prepare required support schedules related to month-end close, the annual budget, and the annual audit as assigned.
- Formulate recommendations and make decisions that follow established standards and do not financially impact the organization in substantial ways.
- Travel expectations for this role are :
- Participation in annual all staff retreat(s)
- Attending departmental in person meetings

Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in an accounting or revenue function
- Associates degree or higher education preferred, but not required.
- Previous nonprofit industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Experience and knowledge of financial accounting components, including but not limited to revenue, pledges, contributions receivable, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, journal entries, and bank and account reconciliations.
- Experiences with computerized financial accounting systems. Strong PC skills with proficiency in Word and Excel. Experience with NetSuite & Salesforce software is a plus.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, and flexibility to occasionally travel.
Physical Demands
While performing this job, employees may be required to talk, stand or sit for long periods of time, walk, climb stairs, key data, stoop, twist, bend, crawl, speak and hear.
Employees may drive a motor vehicle and may be required to travel during business hours. Person must also be able to move / lift up to 20 pounds.
