MGX Equipment Services is seeking someone who is knowledgeable in DOT and FMCSA requirements and passionate about innovating, streamlining, and simplifying processes.

The DOT Compliance Manager is responsible for maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal DOT regulations.

This position will be based out of any location within an hour of an MGX branch locationand reports directly to the Director of Crane Rental and Sales with a dotted line the Director of Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Manage and maintain Driver Qualification Files for applicable employees; both CDL and Non-CDL drivers with assistance from Branch Leadership and Human Resources.
  • Consistently ensure appropriate documents and endorsements are up to date and valid.
  • Maintain DOT compliance including annual Clearinghouse queries, random drug screenings, DOT verifications, MVR monitoring, etc.

  • Review Drivers Hours of Service and help local Branch Leadership to address HOS issues.
  • Perform audits to confirm the required documentation is present and up to date.
  • Provide support during acquisitions.
  • Stay informed on changes that impact DOT compliance.
  • Review new hire DOT documents for accuracy and validity.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of DOT pre-employment screenings and necessary documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manage the current rolling stock fleet of Commercial Motor Vehicles, Passenger Vehicles, as well as manage the acquisition and disposal of the rolling stock.
  • Manage vendor relations.
  • Manage ELD installation, training, and technical issues for the Field Service Fleet.
  • Manage Drug and Alcohol Testing for Post Accident and Site Access.

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in DOT compliance or enforcement, fleet safety systems management and capability development, data analysis and ongoing program management.

Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • At least one (1) year of Driver Qualification file management required.
  • Experience supporting FMCSA motor carrier in maintaining DOT compliance.
  • Knowledge of multi-state DOT compliance required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of Safety, DOT and OSHA regulations and compliance.
  • Must be proficient in Office365 apps, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with people in all levels of the organization.
  • Must have ELD Experience (Samsara, PeopleNet, XATA)
  • Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time or more, as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

This is a full-time position with typical working hours between 7 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be possible based on business conditions.

There may be lifting and / or moving of up to 40 pounds. Vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
