Summary
- Completes assigned Assessments & Audits for Deaconess Illinois Hospitals and Illinois Clinics using Protenus Involving and working with HR Assigning / classifying actions taken and escalating / involving Privacy Officer as needed for complicated and complex matters.
- Responds to internal risk events and complaints received regarding possible privacy breaches Incident Reports : processes Incident Reports on Illinois Clinic and Hospital MIDAS work-lists taking action to : Assure consistent classifications of incident types and consistent analysis of potential breaches Requesting pertinent documentation for inclusion in the event.
Identify potentially compensable events and submit Claim Advisory Process. Work with appropriate hospital department managers and / or directors to assure appropriate follow-up is completed and appropriate documentation is obtained.
Manages MIDAS Claims Entry & Claims Advisory Notices : Initiates Claims Advisory Notices after gathering pertinent information and performing any needed investigation.
Submits completed Claims Notice (CAN) to appropriate insurance with supporting documentation; creates MIDAS claims entry and assures acknowledgment letter is received and added to the claim in MIDAS.
Answers legal requests, reviewing and working to obtain requested information to support discovery requests and defense counsel.
Escalates and works with Privacy Officer for required reporting to Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and Attorney General for privacy matters
- Works with Privacy Officer, Risk Manager and / or in house counsel in response to subpoenas and attorney requests for information or depositions.
- Insurance Management, coverage, applications, COIs and renewals for IL Hospitals & Clinics in IL as well as other IL policies within DHS
- Maintains IL Business Associate Agreements Monitors and recommends updates to IL Notice of Privacy Practices in accordance with best practices and current law.
