POSITION SUMMARY

Intern Internal Audit

We are very excited about our 2025 Paid Internship Program at TopBuild’s Corporate Office in Daytona Beach, FL. Our program is based on a 40-hour work week and may lead to the opportunity to earn a full-time offer.

This internship can begin part-time as early as March. However, the full-time summer program is from May to August.

As the Internal Audit intern, you will have the opportunity to participate in business process walkthroughs, perform audit testing over entity level controls, business process controls, and key reports.

You will also have the opportunity to assist in an inventory count and / or a branch audit at one of our 400+ branch locations.

Daily Functions :

  • Contribute to the success of our business performance by working as an Internal Audit Team member to build positive working relationships with functional business areas.
  • Engage in the review and testing of Company controls in coordination with the Internal Audit Manager and / or Director.
  • Build your project management and execution skills by through audit testing.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities such as online courses, visiting constructions sites, observing a physical inventory count, and career development mentoring.
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different tasks.
  • Develop and strengthen interpersonal skills and build your network through engaging with other departments throughout the Company.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate program in Accounting or Finance
  • Completion of Audit coursework is highly preferred.
  • Academic success (GPA of 3.2 or higher)

EXPERIENCE

  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel
  • Legal Age Requirements : At least 18 years of age

  • Accounting and reporting - Demonstrates and applies an understanding of basic accounting principles. Understands the role of accounting and its impact on the financial operation.

Adheres to appropriate policies, procedures and work instructions as appropriate to role.

Work is performed in a typical office environment and may require standing, bending, lifting of boxes or packages under 10 lbs.
