SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Philanthropy Associate plays an important role supporting the Philanthropy Department’s programs and events in fulfilling the strategic pillar of Philanthropy & Communications.
Responsibilities include gift processing, CRM database maintenance, assisting with programs and events, and providing general administrative support to the Philanthropy Department.
This position requires a high level of organization, the ability to multi-task and take initiative.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Percentage of Time Spent on Each Function
Database Management and Gift Processing : 50%
- Serve as a department lead in processing gift and donor data entry, reporting and donor engagement correspondence.
- Manage CRM database including updating and maintaining accurate donor records and mailing lists.
- Reconcile online donations and ongoing gift maintenance.
- Generate department and donor giving reports for benchmarking.
Program and Administrative Support : 50%
- Coordinate and assist with annual giving programs, including staff giving, direct mail and donor recognition.
- Regularly review and as needed, update Philanthropy website, donor wall, print materials, and giving forms.
- Contribute to the Philanthropy Department’s portions of RHF publications.
- Assist with monitoring Social Accountability reporting from communities, including providing basic instruction on how to report SA information.
- Assist with coordinating and tracking grant award payments for RHFCF programs.
- Assist with various department projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience required.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills. Accuracy in handling details of tasks.
- Strong and effective interpersonal skills, modeling effective relationship management and demonstrating emotional intelligence / situational awareness.
- A strong work ethic with an ability to work independently and within a larger team.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload with minimal direct supervision.
- Computer knowledge : Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office. CRM database and desktop publishing experience a plus.
