Finish Technician
Primary Purpose :
The Finish Technician will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction.
The Finish Technician does this by developing and maintaining finishes. The Finish Technician also provides support to finish operations by maintaining Vendor Finish materials, equipment, colors (recipes) and process.
The Finish Technician position completes these functions in the manufacture of furniture parts and pieces.
Description of Duties :
- Identify a variety of wood species products including but not limited to the following wood species : Cherry, Mahogany, Oak, Maple, Birch, and Veneers and make grade related decisions on a daily basis based on established Stickley standards
- Reports to their supervisor or Production Manager for daily directions and promptly report any questions or problems
- Read, comprehend, and full fill production tickets
- Read and Interpret part drawings
- Inspect parts for quality and dimensional accuracy
- Creates, maintains and replaces sample master panels
- Checks the stained furniture to make sure it matches the samples
- Work in the safest, most efficient manner per specifications and when no other jobs are noted as needed line up jobs in a manner that minimizes setup time
- Operate assigned tools / machines using items such as color mixer, various types of measuring devices, sand paper, cheese clothes, gloves, sander and spray guns
- Maintains vendor finish materials, equipment, colors (recipes) and process
