Job Description
The Associate Sales Manager (ASM), is an active member of a cross-functional team (including sales, supply chain, demand planning, operations, logistics, finance, R&D, and marketing), is responsible for providing account management support, as well as sales insights and solutions for the International Sales team.
The ASM will support the international team with development and execution of sales plans focused on delivering volume, revenue, and profitability goals.
The ASM will also take a leadership role on select projects that will include cross-functional & customer interface.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities :
International Account Management
- Account management for select direct international customers with a focus on development of smaller regional customers in Latin America, whilst seeking out new business opportunities across the globe
- Work with customer service to provide daily support regarding order fulfillment issues and questions
- Work with supply planning on forecasting, BDR management and allocations
International Marketing and Project Management
- Work with retail and foodservice marketing, R&D, Operations, and international brokers and vendors to plan, develop and commercialize new items in support of international project (stage gate) submissions
- Provide project support for LRP initiatives
- Develop new presentations and selling material for specified customers and regions
- Support the international sales team and external brokers by coordinating POS material, product samples, and trade show participation
- Process invoices, manage vendors and track International Marketing Budget expenditures
Trade and Pricing Programs for the International Channel
- Coordinate International customer pricing programs in Forge Blacksmith
- Coordinate International trade programs in Forge Blacksmith
- Support the international sales team, and brokers with international deduction clearing efforts to ensure deduction balances remain within targets
Sales Planning and Reporting
- Design and draft monthly business update presentations in coordination with sales management
- Support regular sales forecasting and AOP planning efforts
- Regularly analyze volume / revenue / NSP by customer, market and product category and work with international sales as well as retail and foodservice business development teams to provide solutions for business improvement
- Work with sales management business development to analyze trade spending versus volume and provide solutions for optimal mix of spend and return
Product Registrations and International Documentation
- Coordinate necessary documents and information to maintain existing product registrations and register new products. Documents and information include :
- Certificates of Free Sale, obtain Apostille if needed
- Product Technical Data Sheet
- Composition ratio, Production Flow Chart, Letter of Authorization
- Shelf-life testing method, Lot code interpretation
- Nutritional facts
- Product labels
- Other documents as required
Logistics and Supply Chain Continuous Improvement Coordination and Management
- Work cross-functionally with operations and logistics teams to help execute cost-saving and efficiency improving measures for the international channel
- Work with logistics to plan / secure ocean freight and optimal storage location for international product supply
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Ability to analyze multiple levels of data from many resources and provide insights / recommendations
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and develop relationships across functional groups
- Strong project management, decision-making, detail orientation, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-changing paced environment
- Able to handle and manage confidential information when working internal and externally
- Financial data understanding / business acumen (e.g., P&L) required
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, with advanced skills in Excel
- Foreign language ability a plus
- Some domestic and international travel required
Education & Experience :
- B.A. / B.S. in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, or related discipline
- 2-3 years experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or some combination thereof in a large poultry / meat company.
- Experience and demonstrated ability working with multi-cultural clients and stakeholders
