The WVU Department of Emergency Medicine offers a variety of practice locales and types across its diverse group of clinical sites.
Qualified applicants must have an MD or DO degree (or its foreign equivalent) and be eligible to obtain an unrestricted West Virginia medical license.
Candidates must have completed an accredited Emergency Medicine residency program. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

We offer a state-of-the-art emergency ultrasound fellowship program. Our department hosts an emergency medicine services, pediatric emergency medicine, and a sports medicine section with a sports medicine fellowship.
The 80+ faculty and physicians, 30 residents, two sports medicine fellows, two point of care ultrasound fellows, and 60+ advanced practice providers are engaged in a host of extramurally funded, investigator-initiated research projects.
Departmental research interest include stroke, traumatic brain injury, emergency medical and pre-hospital services, event medicine, tactical medicine and disaster planning, medical education, population health, telemedicine, domestic partner violence, and point-of-care ultrasound.
