Boston Dynamics is seeking an Incoming Quality Inspector to join our Supplier Quality team as we build the world’s most advanced robots.

Every day, you will work closely with the Operations team to ensure timely inspections are conducted to aid with the proper flow of parts and materials needed for production.

You will play a vital role in helping to ensure our customers receive robots that are made to the highest standards. To thrive in this role, you must have an understanding of engineering drawings and the part inspection process, and have excellent communication skills with a team-first mentality.

Note that candidates must be able to pass a GD&T aptitude test administered during the interview process

Day to day activities :

Following our quality control plan, inspect supplier and internal materials utilizing various mechanical tools and equipment and a range of inspection techniques

Inspect and assess material’s compliance based on dimensional and acceptance criteria and document and communicate inspection results

Create basic inspection plans off of drawing requirements. Understand which measurement devices would best perform the inspection.

Understand AQL tables and how to select the correct sampling rate.

Clearly communicate nonconformance's via ticketing system with complete information provided for engineering to make an assessment

Provide periodic reports related to quality inspection results and provide feedback to look for opportunities for improvement in our quality and control processes.

Help manage the MRB area by pushing for timely and accurate dispositions as required

Support Supplier Quality team as needed with containment screening activities of inventory items

Help manage calibration requirements both quality inspection tools

Participate in internal compliance audits related to our quality assurance requirements as required

Maintain a clean, well organized work space in line with 5S standards

Follow health and safety requirements at all times and bring to light safety concerns as soon as they arise

Desired skills :

Previous experience in a quality inspector or quality technician role, preferably in an electromechanical, aerospace, or medical assembly environment

Experience in quality control techniques and understanding of GD&T per ASME Y.14.5-2018 standard.

Experience with injection molding is an added advantage

IPC-610 or J-STD-001 certification is an added advantage

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality control plans

Hands-on inspection skills (caliper, micrometer, thread gages, etc.); CMM and manual or automated optical measurement equipment experience is an added advantage

Experience with ERP preferred, as well as experience working on computers and using computer programs to aid inspection.

Experience working in an ISO 9001 or similar environment
