We are seeking an engineer or scientist that is capable of designing and setting up a complex hardware in the loop (HWIL or HIL) to test weapon systems critical to our nation's defense.

If you have previous experience working with a hardware in the loop system or if you have strong background in electrical interfaces and software then you'll be an ideal candidate for this position.

You'll be joining a team that designs, builds and runs hardware in the loop (HWIL) around weapon systems flight computers and sensors, such as GPS receivers and IMUs.

We have experienced staff that will mentor those new to the field and are also looking for experienced staff that are capable of mentoring others.

As a Hardware in the Loop Engineer

  • Your primary responsibility will be working on building and running hardware in the loop setups around unique weapon systems.
  • You will program in C++, taking care to understand latency, thread safety and pushing / pulling data from hardware interfaces.
  • You will work with embedded hardware systems and sensors, understanding the electrical interfaces and communications protocols.
  • You will document code, setup CI / CD, network systems together, communicate across the team your status and needs.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar field.
  • Have 2+ years of experience working with hardware in the loop, embedded systems, or C++ 6-dof simulations.
  • Are skilled in software programming, understanding electrical signals and how embedded systems communicate.
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance.

If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.

  • Have significant experience designing and setting up hardware in the loop test beds.
  • Have experience designing high fidelity (6-dof) software simulations for flying platforms (missiles, planes, projectiles).
  • Familiar with weapon systems such as : missiles, hypersonics, seekers, naval platforms.
  • Familiar with one or more of : CUDA, FPGA, GIT, compilers, software defined radio (SDR) or RFSoC, networking protocols, object oriented programming, Python, MatLab, Simulink, RF systems.
  • The ability and desire to learn new skills through documentation, classes, examples and experimentation.
