This role is a part of Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to Business Units with the focus on design, build and maintenance of the ground systems, test and launch facilities across multiple locations.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will lead a multi-site team that develop systems to test engines and launch spaceflight vehicles.
Share in our team’s impact on all aspects associated with test stand and launch complex ground system design. Lead a team of engineers who perform the design of fluid systems, including but not limited to cryogenics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
The team's scope includes conceptual and detailed design, analysis, coordination with suppliers, and supporting the construction, installation, and commissioning of new test and launch systems.
You will provide team leadership, technical mentorship, resource management and project oversight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Lead and manage a team of mechanical and fluids engineers.
Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions for ground systems.
Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure flawless execution of projects.
Drive the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical and fluids systems.
Foster a culture of safety and consistency to established standards; of innovation, inclusion, and collaboration; and one that encourages and enables others to build skills and develop their careers.
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical, aerospace or chemical engineering; or equivalent
10+ years of experience with fluid and mechanical systems (e.g. pressurized cryogenic flow, hot gases, etc.)
3+ years of experience in people management
Demonstrated understanding of fluid system design concepts and operations
Resource management, including budget and headcount planning and execution
Organized, self-starter, capable or breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks
Exhibit excellent judgement and be comfortable making high-quality and high-velocity decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication
Demonstrate the ability to adapt and excel in changing, growing environment
Proven effective leadership and mentoring
Demonstrate the ability to understand the organization’s vision and flow that into practical strategies for making priority decisions to drive results and supports company goals
Up to 25% travel
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.

Preferred Qualifications :
Experience performing rocket engine testing, ground system design, and conducting related operations
Experience developing and implementing processes
Knowledge of fluid system components (i.e. valves, regulators and pumps for cryogenics, propellants, and other fluids)
Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.)
Knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME BPVC, AISC and ACI codes
Experience using ProEngineer / Creo, Windchill, ProPiping, AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant / P&ID
Experience with static and non-linear FEA analysis (ANSYS), Bentley AutoPipe, CAESAR, and AFT Arrow / Fathom
Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $198,908-$278,471
