POSITION PURPOSE
The Treasury Analyst for Accounting / Treasury is responsible for performing analytical and administrative tasks in the areas of cash management, borrowings and pledging along with other more project-based duties.
Must project a professional company image through both in person and phone interaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Responsible for daily cash management activities including processing overnight FHLB of Dallas borrowings and reporting on the bank’s daily cash position.
- Responsible for monitoring public funds accounts and ensuring that such accounts are adequately collateralized. If not covered, takes action to ensure that sufficient collateral is pledged to the accounts.
- Responsible for the daily monitoring and processing of correspondent bank accounts, repurchase agreement customer accounts, and customer safekeeping transactions.
- Assists in the monthly investment accounting process.
- Processes associate notary applications and renewals.
- Maintains accurate spreadsheets, databases, and answer telephone and email inquiries from customers, banking centers and other departments.
- Assist with monthly income variance analysis.
- Assist with monthly board reports.
- Cross-train in other accounting functions.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Certification : Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. (e.g., finance)
Experience Required : One to two years of banking (e.g., teller) experience or four plus years equivalent related working experience.
Skills / Abilities :
Good computer application skills; including Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills are preferred.
Thorough knowledge of file maintenance, English grammar, appropriate standards regarding letters, memorandum, composition, and proper telephone etiquette.
Good reading and arithmetic skills.
Ability to handle basic accounting issues and concepts.
Moderate interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, or ability to prioritize and complete various tasks within deadlines.

Average Hearing : Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Repetitive Motion : Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and / orfingers.
Average Visual Abilities : Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Physical Strength : Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
WORKING CONDITIONS : No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (typical office environment.)
MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions an to deal with problems involving several variables.
Mathematics Ability : Ability to handle moderately difficult mathematical concepts, review and utilize trend reports, use decimals to compute ratios, percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.
Language Ability :
Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,-6, words; read at a slow rate; and define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation.
Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and using adjectives and adverbs.
Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present and past tenses and good vocabulary.
CUSTOMER CONTACT : Ability to make accurate inquiries with customers to resolve problems in a firm and professional manner.
Ability to overcome objections.
