About the job

For this role, we are seeking a Technical Architect to design and lead development on enterprise ecommerce projects built on SAP Commerce Cloud.

You will be leading the technical design and architecture and communications with client and other IT partners involved.

Your team will be responsible for developing and maintaining the components we build which will live in an SAP Commerce Cloud (CCV2) hosted solution.

Your understanding of SAP Commerce Cloud technology and ability to communicate how to use to solve clients’ business issues will help iCrossing develop a robust eCommerce practice.

What you’ll do

  • You will lead the creation of the overall SAP Commerce Cloud (hybris) architecture solution and oversee the application development project team responsible for building this solution.
  • You will collaborate with internal and external team stakeholders to facilitate the discussions on requirements and technical solution approaches
  • You will lead communication efforts around architecture and ecommerce solutions to the client and other agency partners
  • You will architect SAP Commerce Cloud solutions for both ecommerce frontend store front, back-end API and data integrations
  • You will guide the team on development industry and SAP Commerce Cloud best practices
  • You will help ensure the overall quality of deliverables and application documentation
  • You will work with Technical Managers to assign work, estimate project specific work, and ensures the timeliness / quality of deliverables and make sure all appropriate parties are informed of tech team status and issues.
  • You will work with or even be the Technical Lead and participate in all Scrum processes, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, and Sprint Retrospectives
  • You will constantly make sure your knowledge of technology and tools is current

Who you are

  • You have strong programming fundamentals, problem solving and technical skills
  • You have a thorough understanding of enterprise commerce solutions and experience with both frontend storefront and back office integrations, as well as understanding of integrations with point of sales systems.
  • You have at least one SAP Commerce Cloud project which you lead your team from your own technical designs through successful release and maintenance.
  • You have 8+ years of industry experience and at least 6+ years of Java application development with use of open source frameworks (including Spring framework)
  • You have 5+ years of SAP Commerce Cloud (hybris) heavy hands-on development experience. Proficient in breaking down requirements into full solution task decomposition.
  • You have previous experience architecting the integrations between enterprise systems and exposing services through APIs, including via SAP Commerce Cloud Omni Commerce Connect (OCC) REST API
  • You’ve architected, modeled retail domain extensions and designed commerce storefronts on SAP Commerce Cloud using frameworks such as Accelerator and the Spartacus frontend
  • You have experience architecting multi-tenant solutions using multiple regional product catalogs on international languages.
  • You have previously done analysis of complex domain models, reverse engineering entity relationships and gradually transforming existing systems with enhanced requirements.
  • You have experience in customization of SAP Commerce Cloud Backoffice experience to tailor UI to custom data models.
  • You have previous experience working hands-on with Apache, J2EE containers (Tomcat) and troubleshooting distributed infrastructure topologies.
  • You have operational knowledge of designing, building and securing RESTful web services with SSL, JWT, OAuth and SAML.
  • You have a solid understanding of continuous Integration technologies and deployment frameworks (Maven, Docker, Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps) and applied your knowledge in setup and configuration for CICD in CCV2 environments.
  • You have managed and mentored other application developers.
  • You are comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • You have done application-level troubleshooting (including unix shell and protocols). You have validated that deployments were done right and can dive in through entire application stack and to any level to get to the bottom of issues.
  • You have solid communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical.
  • Your have documented technical solutions with UML diagrams (sequence, components, flows, etc) and you have worked with engineers actively using diagramming and visual aids.
  • You have experience working a geographically distributed team across multiple offices and have helped develop remote team members
