Join Our Team as a Host / Hostess at Western Racquet Club!

Western Racquet Club is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Host / Hostess to manage dining reservations, enhance member experiences, and support food and beverage operations. This role is essential in ensuring seamless service while maintaining the club's high standards. Key Responsibilities :

Dining & Member Services :

  • Greet and seat guests and manage reservations.
  • Direct and assist members and guests in locating daily private functions and events.
  • Suggest and describe appetizers, entrées, desserts, wines, and cocktails.
  • Ensure a smooth dining experience by coordinating food service between the kitchen and service staff.
  • Handle member and guest inquiries or complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Carefully observe and assess service quality, taking corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to club policies, health, and safety guidelines.
  • Track and generate restaurant reports and audit server checks to ensure accurate billing.
  • Assist in enforcing revenue control procedures and adherence to alcohol service laws.

Reservations :

  • Manage restaurant reservations, reciprocal requests, and any needs for club members.
  • Oversee telephone communication at the reservations desk, assisting with inquiries and bookings.
  • Maintain an organized seating and scheduling system to optimize dining flow.

    • Operational & Management Support :

  • Supervise and assist service staff, ensuring training in service etiquette, teamwork, and POS systems.
  • Perform managerial duties in restaurant operations during the manager’s absence.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of linens, silverware, and service areas.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of office equipment and fixtures related to dining operations.
  • Participate in club meetings, training courses, and events as required.

    • What We’re Looking For :

  • Ability to work 2+evenings a week (preferably most, if not all, Friday evenings)
  • Knowledge of dining reservations systems and procedures.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent member service while enforcing club policies.
  • Knowledge of wine service, cocktail recommendations, and fine dining etiquette.
  • Experience in restaurant operations, guest services, or club hospitality preferred.
  • Must follow all health and safety guidelines and be knowledgeable of emergency procedures.
