Job Title : Machining Technologist (Special Rate)

Specifically, you can expect to :

Set up, operate and adjust various lathes, milling machines, boring and turning machines, cylindrical and surface grinder, planers, EDM’s, balancers, gearing machines, special universal grinding machines, rotary head milling machines, boring mills, etc.

to perform precision machining operations on details of dies, jigs, fixtures, miscellaneous tooling, parts for repair, prove design parts, experimental, and / or research parts.

• Use a variety of special equipment and attachments as required.
• Determine methods and procedures including necessary calculations applicable to the setup of machines and performance of required operations.
• Improvises machine setups and provides operating instructions.
• Perform bench work if necessary, using scrapers, chisels, files, precision laps, modeling grinders, and all types of precision gauging tools and instruments.
• Adhere strictly to blueprint specifications without the aid of established procedures.
• Use advanced mathematics and trigonometry.
• Assist process engineers in developing manufacturing process improvements and manufacturability analysis.
• Develop manufacturing processes for new materials and carry through to completion the development, construction and / or fabrication of all kinds of experimental parts to test engineering theory and design.

Top Candidates will have :

The ability to achieve top rate in this classification and be capable of assisting and consulting others to resolve problems.

Hours : 7 : 00 AM 3 : 00 PM

Location : Peoria, IL - Peoria Proving Grounds
