Territory Sales Manager
Location : Birmingham, AL, US Position Description
Briggs & Stratton is seeking a Territory Sales Manager for our Turf & Consumer business in our Alabama territory. This individual will drive the creation and growth of business for our outdoor equipment brands through our dealer channel.
These brands include Ferris, Simplicity, and Snapper.
Job Responsibilities
- Actively engage and serve as a trusted business advisor to Briggs & Stratton dealers to drive sales and incremental growth of Ferris, Simplicity and Snapper brands of outdoor power equipment and achieve sales targets
- Maintain a high level of service and communication for customers by a regular and consistent call cycle, both via phone and in person.
- Interface with assigned management and support personnel to insure consistent and open communication, excellent customer support, the successful implementation of company programs, and the achievement of territory and company plans.
- Achieve territory growth through the development of new profitable business by building and maintaining sales pipeline of new dealer prospects in the territory
- Review and analyze sales and marketing data to promote sales, determine customer needs and provide accurate forecasting information.
Communicate and act on trends and opportunities.
- Engage and support dealers in all aspects of the sales cycle including prospecting, qualifying customers, presentations, proposal generation, equipment demonstrations, handling objections, and closing sales of Briggs & Stratton products to residential customers, commercial landscape contractors, government accounts, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Ability to analyze sales trends to identify alternatives that will maximize sales opportunities
- Solid knowledge of all Briggs & Stratton products and sales procedures
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of people
- Solid computer skills including understanding of sales software systems, word processing and spreadsheets
- Ability to work independently; solid organizational skills
- Must possess the desire to continuously improve through training
- Ability to manage business schedule and territory travel effectively
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and / or location
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience Experience Requirements
Minimum of two years of experience in a sales or customer service environment. Dealer-based experience is preferred.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Able a to safely load, secure and operate a variety of company trailers on a regular basis Valid Drivers License Domestic and / or International travel as required up to 80%
