JOB DUTIES
Description
The Health Informatics Analyst is responsible for leading the development of analytics solutions for UCLA Health and Health Sciences by gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, developing reports, visualizations and various analytics solutions, and delivering them to stakeholders.
The Health Informatics Analyst will provide analytical support for health management, including profiling, health economics, and business analytics / performance metrics.
In this role, you must achieve in-depth knowledge of relevant software applications as well as understand policies, procedures and constraints.
You will take direction from, and collaborates with, the Manager, Analytic Solutions, and the Director, Enterprise Analytics, on work priorities and manages the resolution of escalated issues.
This role will require you to be on-site at least twice a week.
Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity.
The full salary range for this position is $95,900 $222,000 annually. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately between the minimum and midpoint.

Qualifications
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in a healthcare related organization
- 5+ years demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server or Oracle
- Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules strongly preferred (incumbent will be required to obtain their certification within 6 months of hire)
- Epic build experience in a live environment strongly preferred
- Epic implementation experience specific to clinical workflows and order management strongly preferred
- Experience in visualization development with the use of Tableau and / or PowerBI strongly preferred
- Strong SQL Programming Skills (MS SQL Server / Oracle platforms)
- Extensive knowledge of data warehouse concepts, data modeling and structures, visualizations and reporting
- Extensive knowledge of SAP Business Objects architecture, functions, features, and capabilities
- Extensive knowledge of best practices regarding reporting, workflows, policies, procedures, systems and culture in the healthcare environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills
- Ability to quickly learn various clinical and business domains
- Ability to synthesize information to identify opportunities to create new solutions and evaluate those solutions to ensure that they are effective
- Experience in gathering, documenting, prioritizing and tracking requirements
- Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation
- Must recognize and evaluate problems, and refer to the appropriate channels for action
- High functioning team skills, including active listening and rapport building
- Effective written & verbal communication
- Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels to understand requirements
