Under minimal supervision and direction, performs a variety of maintenanceand custodial duties including painting, light bulb and fixture changing orrepairing, minor plumbing to include toilet repair, assisting with furnituremoving, general maintenance jobs as and when required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Minor HVAC, plumbing & electrical trouble shooting and repairs.
- Tile work
- Graffiti removal
- Painting
- Maintaining custodial equipment in proper working order.
- Keep all equipment, mechanical, electrical riser rooms clean.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide custodial services support to cleaning staff whenever required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
To be successful in this position, the incumbent must possess the followingknowledge, skills and abilities :
Education and Experience :
Graduation from high school required. Minimum of two or more years ofrelated experience performing handyman or maintenance related duties(painting, minor plumbing, minor electrical, equipment maintenance, etc.).
Abilities :
1. Understand and speak English to communicate and interact effectivelywith supervisor, co-workers and customers.
2. Understand and speak Spanish is desired.
3. The ability to read, understand and communicate safety rules, regulations,procedures, inspection lists, charts, chemical compounds and workdirections.
4. The ability to work safely in accordance with company and job site safetyprocedures.
5. The ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings to meetthe demands of the position.
Other Requirements
1. Safe driving record and proof of current auto insurance required.
2. The incumbent / employee must pass a pre-employment drug / alcohol testwith periodic retesting requirements during the course of his or heremployment with Diamond Contract Services.
