Overview
The Department of Family Medicine is one of eleven clinical departments at the Brody School of Medicine. The purpose of the department is to improve the health of the people of eastern North Carolina through leadership in Family Medicine education, research and health care services.
The department provides accessible, high quality health care for its patients.
The Department of Family Medicine consists of seven divisions, as well as a central administration office. Each division has a responsibility that supports the overall mission of the department.
The divisions include educational development, research, medical student education, residency, geriatrics, clinical services, and sports medicine.
Clinical activities take place in the Family Medicine Center, Robert and Frances Monk Geriatric Center, Firetower Medical Office, nursing homes, ECU Health Medical Center and in the community.
Job Duties ECU Brody School of Medicine’s Department of Family Medicine is currently seeking to hire a full-time Accounting Technician to join their Administrative Team.
This position is responsible for providing support to the Departmental Administrator in the areas of business & financial related duties for the Department of Family Medicine.
Business administration within the department includes the managing of the well-defined business functions, apply established policies & procedures related to the business practice & internal control procedures, purchasing supervisor, contract manager.
Financial Management includes the financial analysis and projection of the operational expenses, monitor the dynamic & multi-dimensional funding sources which include ECUP Annual Funds, State Annual Funds, as well as Research & Grant activities within the department.
Communication includes developing the financial expenditure reports, conveying guidelines for policies & procedures for the different facets of job responsibilities.
Informational Analysis & Decision Making includes the ability to identify problems & resolve according to established policies & guidelines.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the management of the Administrator’s office, assist the Administrator with daily activities, Medical Foundation Fund Manager, Inventory Control, Facilities Coordination & Planning as well as Facilities Management.
Minimum Education / Experience High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
