Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions :
Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. - Participates in manufacturing line audits to ensure adherence to quality procedures; reports discrepancies to management.
- Inspects incoming production parts and final assembly for compliance to engineering prints and quality processes.
- Assists with updating and maintenance of electronic and hard copy files of material certification.
- Assists with the calibration process by numbering, collecting and cleaning of tools; maintains electronic and hard copy files.
- Assists with new employee quality procedure and tool training; updates employee training records.
- Assists with the updating of manufacturing procedures, requirements, and quality assurance inspection logs.
- Assists with data collection.
- Knows and enforces compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare supplementary standards and criteria as needed, e.g., standards for sensory qualities; standardized test procedures.
- Conduct inspections and tests in accordance with the plan.
- Investigate causes of failures; report findings, follow up for corrective action.
- Initiate action to dispose of non-conforming product.
- Prepare and report summaries of results of inspection in appropriate ways; by product, by component, by process, by department responsible, by operator, etc.
- Provide for measurement of inspector accuracy.
- To assist in the development of product quality and consistency.
- Eliminate product rework and non-conformances.
- Assist in the design of effective product flow through the manufacturing process.
- Set up a systematic approach of process problem solving techniques.
- Identify and generate corrective action on opportunities for process improvement.
- Contributes to the department continuous improvement culture.
- Maintains a clean and well-organized work area.
- Maintains confidentiality of all matters.
Education, Licensing, and Certifications :
Required
Two year college or technical degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent education and / or experience.
Preferred
Four year college or university degree in Business or related field.
Experience : Required
Required
Up to two years of relevant experience.
Competencies, Skills, and Knowledge :
Required
- Basic oral and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Good math and analytical skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing system capabilities.
