JOB SUMMARY
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides work leadership and technical guidance to staff. Assigns, coordinates and monitors the day to day functions of the Patient Service Representative (PSR).

- Essential : Demands include seeing, hearing
- Frequent : sitting, finger dexterity, speaking.
- Occasional : standing, walking, finger dexterity, stooping / bending, climbing stairs, twisting body, lifting and carrying usual of 15 pounds, reaching at / below shoulder, repetitive arm / hand motions.
- Operates telephone, facsimile machine, computer, printer and addressograph
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS :
Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
A. EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE :
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Business school degree in accounting preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE :
- Two years-experience as a Patient Service Representative, Patient Registrar or comparable position in a similar environment.
- Prior supervisory / leadership experience preferred.
- Experience to demonstrate :
o Knowledge of ICD-9 & CPT coding and medical terminology.
o Knowledge of requirements and guidelines for federal, state and private insurance payors.
o Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing and understand verbal and written communications.
o Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
o Ability to set priorities, research / problem solve and make independent decisions with minimal supervision.
o Ability to interpret and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to be accurate and attentive to detail.
