Position pay range : $66,800 - $83,300 based upon experience

Objectives

  • Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational standards.
  • Gain a deep understanding of processes and policies, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content.
  • Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of the target audience, turning insights into language for user success.
  • Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement.
  • Ensure quality standards are met across all documentation and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements.
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Collect user feedback to confirm successful implementation and adjustment needs if necessary.
  • Review existing content on a regular basis to ensure that it meets applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements, as well as company requirements.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent voice across all documentation.
  • Maintain a global view of documentation systems, standardizing content across all operating platforms.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (Government, Industry Best Practice, Customer) and external standards (US DOT, ISO, ANSI, CSA, FDA).
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous quality enhancement.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience as an effective technical writer or quality manager.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.
  • Experience in writing documentation and procedure manuals for various audiences.
  • Superb written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience in working with end-users to improve user experience (, design, UI), refine content, and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience producing documented processes, procedures, and governance documentation in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience in supporting an environment of compliance with regulatory bodies and writing process documentation that meets external standards.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in English, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Knowledge of graphic design, photo editing, and video editing.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations or experience with government regulations beneficial.
  • Professional certification (, Society for Technical Communication).
