Position Summary
National Partners is looking for an Accounting Analyst to join the Finance Team in Miami. The applicant will be part of a small, but growing, team and have the opportunity to assist the Finance Team with a variety of daily, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc tasks relating to general financial operations, GL accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, reporting, and financial analysis / budgeting, regulatory compliance, and taxes.
The Accounting Analyst will report to the Controller VP of Accounting. This role requires in-person training at our Miami office, with an option of moving to a hybrid work from home / office model after the individual is up to speed on processes and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
You Will :
- Enter daily Accounting GL journal entries and perform bank reconciliations
- Work with Operations team to resolve reconciling items
- Review daily cash position and expected cash inflows / outflows
- Interface with National Partners 3rd Party originator customers and maintain daily and monthly reporting on fundings, payments, and daily borrowing availability
- Track and reconcile prepaid, accruals, and other accounts
- Reconcile intercompany accounts, perform related research, and create journal entries
- Assist with the month-end close process, year-end financial statement audit, and preparation of tax information for 3rd party tax preparer
- Handle general Accounts Payable, including vendor management, submission of invoices for approval, and related tracking
- Maintain fixed asset system and monthly depreciation
- Assist with the compilation of financial information required for various state regulatory filings
- Assist with monthly and annual budgeting and comparison of budgeted results to actual as needed
- Assist with unclaimed property and escheatment process, 1099 reporting, and tangible property returns
- Conduct research and special projects as needed
Perform within company standards for accuracy, service quality, and turnaround time :
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base of the company's evolving products and services
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and management to ensure client needs are consistently met and exceeded and critical issues are escalated appropriately
- Actively participate in the company's efforts to detect and prevent fraud to mitigate losses
- Assist other departments and processes as needed throughout the company
Qualifications
You Have :
- Knowledge of established accounting principles and practices
- Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office software
- Proven experience with attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking
Even Better :
- 1-3 years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Previous general ledger accounting experience, familiarity with accounting systems, and bank reconciliations
- Advanced Excel / spreadsheet skills
