The mission of Leaders on the Fast Track (LOFT) is to invest in today's most talented campaign and public service leaders, expand their perspectives, deepen their experience, skills and community, and get them ready for what comes next.

The LOFT Fellowship is a full-time, one-year paid program offering top-notch business coursework, real-world simulations and experience, networking, and coaching for progressive campaign and public service leaders.

The LOFT Fellowship was developed in partnership with the University of Michigan, Georgetown University, and experts in corporate learning and development.

LOFT develops and retains the best, most effective campaign and public service leaders by giving Fellows opportunities to collaborate and explore innovative thinking, find new ways to tackle problems, and learn how to build better teams, create winning strategies, and advance their careers.

LOFT will launch its inaugural program in January 2025 and is based in Washington, D.C.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director, LOFT's Director of Leadership Education will lead the development and continuous improvement of the educational curriculum, facilitate classroom sessions to ensure an engaging and challenging academic experience, manage relationships with our educational partners, and support the networking and relationship-building of LOFT Fellows.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced campaign manager who is eager to use their skill set to help develop future leaders in progressive campaigns and public service.

Some travel is required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the LOFT educational curriculum
  • Be responsible for LOFT's end-to-end educational journey, ensuring that Fellows have an engaging and challenging learning experience.
  • Partner with the Executive Director to facilitate classroom sessions to ensure an engaging and challenging academic experience for Fellows
  • Serve as the primary representative of LOFT to our academic partners the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University.
  • Engage with university faculty and program leadership to ensure an academic program that is relevant to Fellows' context and integrated with the applied LOFT curriculum
  • Attract, manage, and collaborate with teams of consultants, subject matter experts, visiting expert faculty, and education-related speakers in the design and delivery of the LOFT curriculum
  • Oversee contracted Learning Development Team to develop academic curriculum and educational modules applying academic learnings to political and public service contexts
  • Manage and collaborate with a Lead Coach to develop a coaching program, including recruiting top-caliber coaches, that supports the educational experience and leadership development of Fellows
  • Support the networking and relationship-building of Fellows
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director and partners, ensure that Fellows broaden and deepen their professional networks while participating in the program
  • Encourage community-building among the cohort of Fellows

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • A belief in and passion for LOFT's vision, mission, and strategy
  • 10+ years of professional experience on campaigns, including experience as a campaign manager on multiple political campaigns with escalating team sizes and budgets
  • Demonstrated success in group facilitation in multiple roles and formats, including strong communications and presentation skills
  • Experience successfully developing and leading a training and / or a learning and development program
  • A bias toward action - constantly pushing toward alignment, clarity and execution on tight timelines.
  • Ability to inspire and engage a broad set of stakeholders, including Fellows, staff, and external partners
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Desire to be part of a team building a program for the first time, from the ground up
  • Embraces a mindset of curiosity, tenacity, adaptability and innovation

The annual salary for this position is $160,000.

LOFT provides the option of enrolling in medical, dental, and vision coverage plans for both the primary employee and applicable dependents.

In addition, we provide a generous PTO policy, and the ability to contribute to a 401k, with a match, after 6 months of employment.
