Greystone Management Solutions, a division of Greystone Select Incorporated, is a real estate consulting firm specializing in asset management, risk assessment, and transit-oriented development consulting for public sector clients.
Services include brokerage; project management, opinions of value; lease administration; public property dispositions, legal document preparation;
construction management; billing, collection, and accounting; and insurance compliance.
We are seeking a motivated, hardworking, energetic, and detail-oriented attorney to fill a Real Estate Counsel position focused on serving a large public transit agency client.
The Real Estate Counsel assists with agreement interpretation and administration; drafting and review of all amendments, assignments, settlements, and agreement notices;
tenant compliance and dispute resolution issues; and liaises with outside counsel handling landlord / tenant litigation.
The Real Estate Counsel will report directly to the Project Executive and Senior Counsel. The position will be based in our New York City office 2-3 days per week.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities :
- Prepare internal authorization memoranda and various documents for client’s approval, including lease / license modifications, mutual termination agreements, letter agreements, termination notices, and other real estate documents;
- Facilitate agreement assignments and prepare associated documentation;
- Act as point of contact between landlord-tenant outside counsel and client’s Legal Department; review documents prepared by outside counsel and facilitate the litigation process;
- and track and report on all milestones;
- Recommend and prepare drafts of settlement agreements for landlord / tenant disputes in coordination with the client;
- Assist assigned asset managers with agreement interpretation issues;
- Assist Project Executive and Director of Tenant Management in review, analysis, and administration of complex master agreements in the portfolio; and
- Perform legal research and other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required :
- Juris Doctor (from an ABA-accredited law school).
- 3-5 years experience in commercial real estate, including leasing and contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, prioritization, and interpersonal skills are required.

Greystone offers a competitive base salary and bonus. The base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $170,000 / year.
The specific compensation that will be offered is based on an understanding of the hired candidates' qualifications at the time of hire.
Employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on employee work performance reviewed during the annual review process.
