Job Summary :
You will be designing printed pieces for customers based on their project goals and requirements. Some pre-press tasks and updating of existing jobs will be a normal part of daily work, but creative design and layout skills are a must!
Graphic Designer Responsibilities :
- Perform all design and desktop publishing (DTP) job orders according to work order / job ticket requirements.
- Ability to stop mid-project in order to start a new RUSH project at any time.
- Knowledge of and utilization of current graphic standard software :
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Canva
- Stay up to date on new software programs that customers may be using in order to give the customer an easier and more positive experience.
- Create aesthetically pleasing designs to illustrate customer’s ideas and maintain consistent customer branding upon multiple projects.
- Meet customer’s deadlines while still maintaining a high level of creative design integrity.
- When required, recreate customer’s files and offer suggestions on ways to improve the appearance, readability, etc.
- When required, meet and discuss job specifics with customers, ensuring that they feel confident in our ability to create their desired product.
- Incorporate changes recommended by the customer into the final artwork
- Update and create (non-variable) products and thumbnails for the MyDocs online ordering system.
Prepress :
- Ensuring all files meet requirements for print production within our company
- Ensuring all files meet requirements for outsourcing
- Using AI to generate bleed on files that require trimming
Skills we are looking for :
- Minimum two years’ education in graphic design, 1-year practical experience with 1 year of print production experience.
- Working understanding of the dual platform, applications, primarily Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator)
- Knowledge of PDF and postscript files and PDF plug-ins.
