Exceptional Care for Children (ECC) has an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing healthcare team as a Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant .
We are seeking a full time professional to join our amazing TEAM. Typical shifts Monday - Friday with NO WEEKENDS , Candidates should be committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to pediatric patients requiring transitional, long term, and / or palliative care.
We are an around-the-clock residential facility that provides skilled care to medically fragile children with a technology dependency, from birth to age 21.

Responsibilities :
- Under the supervision of and collaboration with the Physical Therapist, treats children with gross motor delays, difficulties with mobility, gait, strength, balance, coordination, range of motion, postural and tone concerns, neuromuscular disorders and trach-vent dependence.
- Ability to assess and adjust orthotics and a wide variety of equipment, and determine need for change to plan of care.
- Administer daily range of motion, ambulation, standing, and gait training programs as needed.
- Acts as a support personnel to nursing to assist with seating, floor time, and other gross motor developmental activities as needed outside of therapy sessions.
- Documents, prepares and completes daily progress notes and other clinical documentation to support and justify service delivery.
- Has exceptional written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate effectively with patient / family, team members, leadership, and other health care professionals.
- Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education, scope of practice, and competence to care for patients.
- Applies concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating / performing patient care activities.
- Meets mandatory continuing education requirements of the licensing board in the state of Delaware.
- Reports to the Physical Therapist.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Graduate from a CAPTE-Accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid PTA License for the state of Delaware
