JOB SUMMARY
The Pre-Sales Engineer will play a key role in the sales process by working closely with the Pre-Sales Specialist to understand customer needs, develop technical solutions, and demonstrate the value of our products and services.
This role requires a deep focus, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with potential clients and colleagues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist in piloting the project from the opportunity generation to the kickoff meeting with the Project Management team.
- Ensure a good transition to the assigned PM.
- Work with CRM.
- Ensure that the process is followed with the support of the Managing Director.
- Travel to customer sites when necessary to gain a better understanding of their technical and business needs.
- Generate AWS and quotes for potential new machines and retrofits.
- Perform internal tests with the product, to determine the best filling set for each application.
- Oversee the test laboratory.
- Check the dimensions of containers, caps, and / or foils to identify the best solution.
- Communicate effectively with operations and engineering departments to determine the required hours for potential projects.
- Assist in reading and compiling the User Requirements Specifications (URS) when necessary.
- Develop the initial machine layout based on customer specifications, company guidelines, OSHA safety requirements, and sales offers.
- Define the costs of the solutions chosen.
- Record documentation generated in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
- Evaluate the risks of presented solutions.
- Represent the Company at industry shows and events.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Fluency with Windows Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Fluency with 2D and 3D CAD systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Deep understanding of plant layout, technical drawings, and specifications.
- French or Spanish language skills will be an advantage.
- Experience with CRM software will be an advantage.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer or related field degree :
Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience or
Associates degree with 5+ years of experience or
8+ years of experience.
