We are currently looking for a full-time Employee Relations Specialist. The Employee Relations Specialist works under the direction of the Director of Human Resources to oversee and / or coordinate the delivery of various training programs and onboarding programs, to develop and coordinate employee communication and recognition efforts, and to serve as the primary administrator of technical resources within the human resources department.
Responsibilities of the position include :
Serves as the administrator of the Skillsoft / Skillport Learning Management System as it relates to employee training, course modification and custom course creation, maintaining an updated course catalog, employee communication and providing assistance to users as needed.
Provides back-up assistance for the academic administration of the program as needed.
Oversees the compliance training for the system, generally delivered through the Skillsoft platform, collaborating with the Director of Human Resources and Associate Director of Human Resources as necessary to assess training needs;
maintains the rotating schedule for delivery of such programs to ensure the compliance of the organization.
Oversees and assists in the delivery of the new hire and supervisor orientation programs to ensure engaging and informational sessions, as well as facilitating invitations and reminders, coordinating room arrangements, tracking attendance, preparing materials, securing door prizes and other give-a-ways, etc.
collaborates with Director of Human Resources and Associate Director of Human Resources on program content.
- Provides consultative services to all locations for creating and enhancing learning programs for employees and identifies internal and / or external resources to ensure efficient and effective delivery of such programs.
- Processes criminal background checks upon receipt of employee status change forms; completes motor vehicle record checks as needed upon hire and annually thereafter;
downloads completed checks and forwards to Director of Human Resources for approval as needed.
- Updates the employee intranet and coordinates the Employee Spotlight and Employee of the Month features.
- Maintains Employee of the Month Log and communicates nominations with receiving employees.
- Coordinates the exit interview process for voluntary separations from the organization.
- Oversees the SUS Service Award Program; works with location representatives as necessary in developing and delivering other employee recognition programs and events.
- Serves as the web administrator of the human resources and training websites, ensuring relevant and current content.
- Maintains master employee training list and other records related to employee training.
- Maintains Training Center and Nolan Conference schedules and updates meeting room calendars.
- Sources and liaisons with consultants and vendors, as appropriate, including coordination of resources and ensuring quality of product and service levels delivered.
- Collaborates with other human resources department personnel on special projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements of the position include :
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Two years related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered; related certifications preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work well with other departments.
- Ability to work under time constraints.
- Ability to develop and deliver dynamic, effective presentations and training programs.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS office programs, Office 365, SharePoint and familiarity with LMS systems.
- Proficient knowledge of best practices related to employee training.
- Understands and accepts need for discretion and confidentiality.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate faculty and staff face to face and via the telephone.
