Major Duties
THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POSITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP This position is located in the Logistics function of an ARNG Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF).
This is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Dual Status Technician position requiring military membership, compatible military skill assignment, and classification.
The purpose of this position is to act as an aircraft mechanic with responsibility for certifying airworthiness and managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel.
Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and operational readiness IAW Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) title 14 Part 43 rules governing the maintenance, preventive maintenance, rebuilding and alteration of aircraft having a U.
S. airworthiness certificate as well as guidelines and projection of maintenance requirements per the UH-72A Program Office to maintain individual aircraft operational readiness, ensuring aircraft meet airworthiness compliance as stipulated within the Army's UH-72A Continued Airworthiness Maintenance Plan (CAMP).
Manages, monitors or performs overall maintenance within the CAMP and FAA framework, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance UH-72A military aircraft.
Performs work in complex conditions under time and / or mission constraints to include all weather and night operations.
Requests maintenance services exceeding AASF capabilities or time constraints. Controls and performs work assignments based upon priorities, workload availability of UH-72A parts, facilities, material and personnel.
Coordinates with maintenance supervisor(s) and production control on maintenance requirements to aircraft that require adjustment to changes in operational requirements.
- Maintains UH-72A aircraft under FAA and manufacturer guidelines and conducts inspections IAW Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance publications and special inspection criteria as outlines in FAA, OEM and Army maintenance and safety messages.
- Plans, develops and conducts proficiency training during the technician work week to a multi-faceted workforce comprised of Full Time Support (FTS) and support unit personnel.
Sessions are designed to provide training in techniques of repair and maintenance of UH-72A aircraft and related equipment.
Conducts and certifies proficiency of trainees for additional or increased responsibilities.
Complies with safety, fire, security, environmental, and housekeeping regulations. Ensures material and equipment are properly and safely maintained and protected.
Ensures current up to date compliance and conformity to all FAA and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) regulatory requirements.
