About the Position :

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you'll work closely with experienced engineers on design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing projects.

You'll support safety improvements, draft training materials, conduct hands-on equipment testing, and contribute to critical inspection checklists.

Additionally, you'll assist in engineering-specific tasks like implementing Kanban systems, updating machine programs, and creating training materials for new processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Support safety improvement efforts and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) through critical inspection checklists and engineering projects.
  • Develop training materials for new equipment and devices.
  • Review equipment manuals to extract relevant safety training content.
  • Collaborate with engineering, EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), and Development specialists to publish training materials.
  • Plan and create test procedures to validate performance of new equipment.
  • Conduct hands-on testing of new equipment and document test results.
  • Develop and implement stock part Kanban systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production supervisors to ensure solutions meet operational needs.
  • Update machine programs to support systems.
  • Create and deliver training on new processes and implement specialty part order systems.

Position Requirements :

  • CAD software proficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong understanding of programming and logic
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Education and Experience :

Current GPA of 3.3 or higher. Applicants must be a Mechanical Engineering major who will have junior or senior standing in fall of 2024;

from a university with ABET accreditation in Mechanical Engineering. Must submit a cover letter with the application.
