This position will teach and lead team members while completing their work quickly and carefully. Detail orientation is key in this position tasks must be precise and thorough.

Communication is also very important in this position you will need to be attentive and respectful to initiate a relationship that creates a customer for life.

What you’ll be doing :

• Lead problem-solver committed to excellence and producing a high-quality level of work. With limited supervision and with proper credentials, they are responsible for a wide range of electrical service repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance within commercial and industrial settings
• Electrical Service Technicians will keep customers committed to Suburban Electric by leaving the customer with the ultimate service experience through strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Takes ownership of each job by ensuring job site cleanliness, organization while being safe, approachable, and professional
• Uses industry knowledge to select appropriate materials and offer options to customers to perform routine electrical maintenance and service while providing professional, courteous, and helpful customer service
• Conducts extensive on-site electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting to determine the cause for equipment malfunction and establish the necessary repairs or replacements utilizing visual inspection, test procedures, and appropriate test equipment.
• Has the capability to perform a general safety audit prior to completion of work, documenting that all required safety features are functional or documenting deficiencies.

Reassembles and tests equipment after repairs and maintains records of all parts used and labor time spent

• Consults with customers before and after service regarding all repair and safety-related issues and discusses recommendations that will assist the customer with improving their electrical systems, prior to leaving the job site
• Determines items requiring quotation and promptly communicates to Service Lead or Manager of actions necessary to sell or complete the repairs
• Strong communication skills are required to gain the customer’s trust and respect ensuring install process to certify that the customer is satisfied with the work completed
• Technicians must have patience and a conscientious mindset when speaking with a customer to ensure Suburban’s core value of Building Trusting Relationships is carried out

What you’ll bring to the table :

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience within the Electrical and Industrial industry
• Wisconsin State Electrical Journeyman License
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Experience with work order completion through a hand-held tablet or mobile device is preferred
• Ability to work nights, holidays, weekends, be on an on-call rotating schedule with some overnight travel as needed
• This position may require employees to drive a company vehicle. If so, employees must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record that allows the company to add them to the company’s insurance policies.

The ideal candidate must also carry Auto Liability Insurance and will be subject to Suburban’s policy concerning company vehicles.
